Why does a guy who is so intelligent, visionary, inspiring, motivating, articulate, and focused on his family ---- SMOKE?
Something doesn't quiet add up on that one...The man with no record leaves us to guess about who he really is...

I assumes he smokes because he's addicted to nicotine like millions of other people.
I'm not following why that's something that doesn't add up or leaves you guessing about who he is.

I too don't understand the "confusion" here. Many smart and talented people smoke because they get addicted young and it is a hard habit to kick. Nothing more than that. But I guess guilt by insinuation is going to be one of the tactics this go around, just like with Harold Ford in Tennessee.....
Nothing against smokers, but it just seems that a messiah like him should have been able to overcome the addiction...
So because he's not the messiah you won't vote for him? A bit harsh but I guess everyone has their, uh, rationale.
The real question surely is 'who would the messiah vote for'? Hard to see him/her/it going for McCain.
I don't understand the confusion either. But, practically every president in history has smoked, with the notable exception of Clinton. It's just that since around Nixon's era they made strong efforts to keep the habit out of the public eye since it's not a good example to set or very wholesome looking. Reagan used to do cigarette ads before he became president!
I take it back about Clinton, he smoked too (of course).
Smoking honestly has nothing to do with his ability to be president.
If you don't have anything intelligent to say, say nothing at all.
