Pay-off the campaign debt + A prime-time speech at the convention + A biographical tribute video + Appearances by Bill and Chelsea...Is That All?

America is looking forward to some great events in the month of August. Our athletes will try to prove their dominance in the Olympics and we will get to witness the spectacle that will be the Democratic National Convention -- more specifically, the complications the Obama campaign is having with trying to appease the runner-up, Hillary Clinton, without reminding the world how many states she won, and how lop-sided the victories were in many of those places. Just a reminder of all the places that preferred Hillary...The list is full of the most populated and important states in the country including Florida and Ohio which Obama has to at least split to have a shot...

California
New York
Texas
Michigan
Florida
Ohio
Pennsylvania
New Mexico
New Jersey
Massachusets
Oklahoma
Arizona
Tennesee
Arkansas
Rhode Island
Nevada
New Hampshire
South Dakota
Puerto Rico
Kentucky
West Virginia
Indiana

A great analysis of the drama at the Democratic Convention was detailed in today's Wall Street Journal. The article is a must read to understand the quagmire and mess caused by Clinton's massive delegate haul. The main stream press seems to already have forgotten, but the Obama The Great won the nomination by the skin of his teeth! My prediction is that Obama will capitulate on all fronts to save the embarassment of a roll call vote. Obama should realize that the Clinton's will seek their own fortune above all other interests, and should not put it past them to sabotage the convention by making Hillary the issue. They still foresee one more good shot for her in 2012.

Hillary's Hit List...The Seven People She Will Not Forgive

When history looks back on the election of 2008 it will always deserve special attention. With Vice-President Cheney's commitment to not seek the Presidency the 2008 election became a wide-open race within both parties. On the Democratic side, Senator Hillary R. Clinton of New York appeared to have the inside track to the nomination, but she was upended by a quixotic rookie Senator from Illinois. Many causes can be attributed to her loss, but seven magnificent endorsements received by Obama early in the campaign tipped the momentum in his favor and he never looked back.

All of these endorsements were received before March 1, 2008 (this signals that these individuals were not simply opportunists jumping on the Obama bandwagon. Many of them endorsed Obama before the primaries began).

5 North Eastern Senators
Senator John Kerry - Mass., Democratic Presidential nominee 2004
Senator Edward Kennedy - Mass., Chairman Senate Health, Education & Labor Committee Senator Christopher Dodd - Connecticut, Chairman Senate Banking Committee
Senator Patrick Leahy - Vermont, Chairman Senate Judiciary Committee
Senator Jay Rockefeller - West Virginia, Chairman Senate Intelligence Committee

2 Female Governors-

Kathleen Sebelius- Kansas
Christine Gregoire - Washington

Two popular female Governor's wouldn't even endorse her! So much for that glass ceiling!

Combined, these endorsements sent a message to the nation that Hillary was out of favor with key party insiders and obviously did not have their trust or respect. Coupled with the endorsements of two female Governors, these endorsements were vital for Obama. If they had been reversed Hillary would be the nominee.
