Say what you will about Mitt Romney's chances for VP, but he sure attracts a lot of negativity in the blogosphere. You may think this is unimportant, but in an era when the NY Times is seeing its profits drop by 82% the new media folks in the blogosphere are playing a more and more important role in political dialogue.
Personally, I like Mitt. Regardless of his political missteps over the course of his career, he is undeniably bright, energetic and a proven leader. I like the idea of having someone who is financially liberated helping to lead the country. That leaves him beholden to no one. For some reason Mitt strikes a negative chord with many people. For this reason alone I think he gets passed by. McCain will probably pick Pawlenty -- much less intellectual horsepower for much less negative hype.
Take a read for yourself of the consistent negative messaging against Romney. It is pretty astonishing.

Sounds to me like Mitt would be the BEST choice McCain could make for his V.P. slot.
Here are about 25 good reasons why Mitt Romney would make an excellent choice for McCain's V.P. pick.

Mine is not as much negative as an effort to remind people of how Romney treated McCain in the contest. I suspect he may be the nominee unless McCain's vanity cannot take it, which is a distinct possibility. I do not even want to speculate on the potential reactions to an actual McCain-Romney ticket.
The main point is to question why there is such directed animosity towards Mitt. No other VP contender is receiving such directed and targeted criticism.
